SHINee
fans received disappointing news earlier in the week when many media
outlets reported that Jonghyun has been harboring a major crush on Girl's Day member Yura.
When the girl group appeared on the July 3 episode of Shindong's ShimShimTapa on MBC FM to perform their new single "Female President," there were a rush of messages left by fans on the radio show's forum.
Much to everyone's surprise, one comment was made by none other than SHINee's Jonghyun.
Super Junior member Shindong,
host of the popular radio program, read the message on air which said
Jonghyun was listening to the show in his parked car, unable to tear
himself away.
He also wrote that he especially liked Yura's live singing, to which she thanked him and was touchd by his kind words.
It was not long before news spread (complete with a few exaggerations) and Jonghyun was labeled as a Yura fan-boy.
The following day the SHINee singer got on Twitter to clarify his comments.
He tweeted, "I never thought I would write something like this on
SNS... I was just saying that in support... and I meant that
ShimShimTapa was so fun as always that I was parked in my car... I
didn't send any text messages to the show, but was messaging with the
PD. Because it was a live broadcast, a lot of things were left out and
caused a misunderstanding!"
To prove that he does not have a fan bias, Jonghyun also tweeted a
supportive message for his other music industry peers. "Girl's Day
fighting! Dal Shabet fighting! Nine Muses fighting! Crayon Pop fighting! All the Korean girl groups fighting!"
He even added, "Boy groups fighting too! I'll get in trouble again if I leave them out. Haha."
