Melting is the second EP by Hyuna, released on October 21, 2012.
It features the number one single, "Ice Cream". The release date was originally scheduled for October 22, 2012 but due to a leak it was digitally released a day earlier by Cube Entertainment.
On October 9, 2012, it was revealed that HyunA would return as a solo artist on October 17 with her new single, “Ice Cream“ from her second EP, Melting.
On October 13, HyunA postponed her solo mini album release date. The agency stated, “HyunA’s mini album, which was originally scheduled for release on October 17th, has been postponed to the 22nd.” The reason for the delay is that an additional part has been decided upon to be added to the music video in order to further upgrade the performance and choreography for the title track “Ice Cream“.
On October 17, it was reported that "Very Hot" from HyunA's second EP Melting was banned by television networks KBS and MBC. The given reason was due to copyright: the song lyrics contained a reference to the brand: KakaoTalk. The ban received harsh criticism from netizens.
The album leaked days before its original release date of October 22, 2012 without permission. Cube Entertainment decided to officially release the album a day earlier to contain the damage done from the unauthorised release.
